Art is Everywhere

So I take these "artist dates" (with myself) where I go some place to find creative inspiration.   It can be the boardwalk, a museum, the farmer's market, or one of the many neighborhoods in LA.  With a camera (or iPhone) in tow, I walk around, observe, and take pictures of interesting things that catch my attention - shadows, lines, movements...  It's like a fun exercise for my creative muscles! I always come home more excited about photography and more grateful for life.

Here are some iPhone photos from my little artist date to The Getty Center.  It's amazing how you can keep going to the same place and see it differently each time.  The beauty of art, it's everywhere!

In & around Santa Monica...

Taking pictures everyday (even with the iPhone!) gives me a fresh perspective of the things around us.  It keeps me inspired, excited and more appreciative of the beauty we constantly see.  Here are a few Instagram favorites from April taken in & around the neighborhood.

Ride :: personal project

This month, I thought I'd share things I love! Riding my bicycle is one of them... down the beach path, to run errands, or just to find "bliss" in our daily lives.  It's a great way to feed thy creative soul :)  Photographing them gives me as much joy!

Here's another personal project I've been working on... bicycles all over Paris.

Knock :: personal project

I LOVE details! As a photographer, I try to keep my creativity fresh with personal projects - shooting things that may not necessarily include a bride & groom or children or sunsets.  I found opportunity knocking on my door during a recent trip to Paris (surprisingly, no shots of the Eiffel Tower here!).  It's all the little details...

Happy New Year!

A brand new year!  ... amazing couples, exciting weddings & locations, and many little happy faces to photograph.  I am beyond thrilled to welcome 2011.  Enjoying a new home, reaching for new heights, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers hopefully go to the superbowl! :)

Jumping for joy... come back often and share my photo adventures!  Thanks to my best friend & Boston's best Maureen Ford for these fun photos.
